Spencer J. Harrison is a senior artist who has been exhibiting nationally and internationally for over 40 years. First educated with a BFA at Queen's University, he went on to paint the first painted PhD in Canada, through OISE, University of Toronto. He currently teaches in the drawing and painting department at OCAD University.

His work at the County Creative Gallery is paintings which speak about contemporary romance. Harrison uses antiquated canoes in imagined waterscapes as metaphors for the narratives he explores. His love of colour and painting allows the viewer to explore these very Canadian images.
