Leslie is a Canadian artist who loves to play with colour.  As an animal-loving artist, Leslie’s work is a celebration of the natural world and the beauty that surrounds her.  Leslie's paintings express her deep appreciation for the unique personalities and characteristics of animals.   She enjoys creating paintings that are closely cropped to her subject, inviting the viewer to come in close and experience the animal's world through its eyes. By focusing on the details of their physical features and expressions, Leslie aims to create a sense of connection and kinship between the viewer and the animal.  To Leslie, nothing is more fascinating than the landscape of an animal's face. Through her work, she hopes to convey her belief in the significance of protecting, preserving and loving the natural world around us.

“My life as an artist has come full circle, and I'm grateful for this point in my artistic journey. As a child, I constantly sketched and journaled, even 'doodling' characters on my basement walls. I spent hours drawing realistic animal images with pencils.

 In 1999, I began painting on glass, that blossomed into a business lasting 15 years. Although I loved painting on glass, my passion for bright colours led me to transition to canvas full time.  I draw inspiration from the natural world around me hoping this is reflected in my work. Painting has become an emotional and fulfilling way for me to live my life.”
